Pocket Option App Download Frequently Asked Questions
Getting the App
Start from the operator's own address every time. Everything else on this page is a consequence of that one habit.
Where should I download it from?
Type the operator's address into your browser yourself, find its download section, and follow the store link published there. That single route is what makes everything downstream reliable, because the operator vouches for the listing it links to and nobody vouches for a search result. The two operator-run addresses are pocketoption.com and po.trade. The official channels note sets the whole route out.
Android, iOS or desktop?
- Android: a real app, from the listing the operator links to. Confirm the package identifier on arrival — com.pocketoption.broker or com.potradeweb. Full note here.
- iOS: follow whatever link the operator publishes. When its pages were read on 31 July 2026 the download section covered Android and the web app, and a live App Store listing could not be confirmed. If nothing opens, use the browser. Full note here.
- Windows and Mac: nothing to install. The operator's own page describes a browser-based web application, not a native installer. Windows and Mac notes cover it.
- Tablet: the same listings, usually a phone layout scaled up. Full note here.
Is the direct file worth using instead of the store?
Rarely. The operator publishes one on its own site alongside the Play link, and that is the only direct download worth considering — but the store route brings automatic updates, which a direct file does not. Anything from any other source cannot be authenticated at all: Android verifies a package has not been altered since signing, not who signed it. The APK note explains why that distinction settles the question.
One route answers most download questions: the operator's own address, its published store link, the identifier checked on arrival.
The Two Apps
There are two official apps, not one, and mixing them up causes more first-login failures than every other cause combined.
What is the difference between pocketoption.broker and potradeweb?
They belong to two operator-run fronts. com.pocketoption.broker, listed as "Pocket Option", corresponds to pocketoption.com. com.potradeweb, listed as "Pocket Broker", corresponds to po.trade. Both fronts present the same service and carry the same restricted-countries notice, and both listings advertise the same feature set. The comparison lays out every axis that can honestly be filled — and marks the ones that cannot.
Which one should I install?
The one matching the front you registered on. If you are starting fresh, either is fine — pick one and stay with it. If you cannot remember where you registered, the operator's support is the only body that can confirm it, and it will never need your password to do so.
Does one account work on both?
Nobody outside the company can confirm that, so do not assume it. The honest position: the two fronts present the same service, and the account you can sign into is the one created on the front you registered on. Installing one app and typing credentials from the other produces an error that looks exactly like a wrong password — and it is the single most common first-login story. The first-login note works through it.
- Two fronts, two apps, one per account.
- The package identifier tells you which you have installed.
- There is no third official app.
- Keeping both installed is how people lose track of which is which.
Two official apps for two operator fronts — install the one matching where you registered and remove the other.
Installing and Updating
The install is short. The parts worth attention are the permission screen, free storage, and letting updates actually happen.
What are the setup steps?
- Free a comfortable margin of storage.
- Type the operator's address and follow its published store link.
- Confirm the package identifier on the listing.
- Install in one go on a stable connection.
- Read every permission request before granting anything.
- Open practice mode before signing in to anything real.
The installation guide covers every platform in detail, and the demo note covers what to do with practice mode.
Which permissions should I refuse?
Network access, notifications, and camera plus file access are ordinary — the last two for document upload during verification. Five requests mean stop: reading or sending SMS, device administrator rights, accessibility services, drawing over other apps, and leaving "install unknown apps" switched on. None has any role in placing a trade. The permissions note takes each in turn.
The install keeps failing. Why?
Note where the progress stopped: a stall while the bar fills is a download problem, and a failure once it is full is a storage or package problem. Free space, clear the store cache, restart, then try a different connection. The errors note works through the full sequence in order.
How do I keep it current?
Enable automatic updates and leave enough free storage for them to complete. A device on a metered connection may defer updates indefinitely, which is the ordinary reason an app quietly falls a long way behind. An app installed outside a store receives no automatic updates at all. The updates note covers the mechanics, and the versions note explains why rolling back is not a fix.
Storage headroom, a read of the permission screen, and automatic updates cover almost every install and update problem.
Safety and Fakes
Clone apps are the real risk in this subject. The defence is the route you take and the permissions you refuse, not the icon you recognise.
How do I spot a clone?
Check the package identifier, because it must be unique across the store and cannot be copied. Open the developer's other listings and see whether they are consistent. Then read the permission screen. Do not rely on icons, screenshots, descriptions, star ratings or review counts — all of them are cheap to imitate or buy, and a new clone can look well-reviewed within days. The fake-apps note covers it in full.
Why does this site not list bad sources?
Because a list of places not to go is a map of places to go. Naming mirrors, archives, modified builds or alternative stores, even inside a warning: hands readers exactly the information they should not have. What works instead is a habit: arrive from the operator's own address, verify one thing on landing, refuse anything on the stop list.
What if I already installed one?
- Disconnect the device from the network.
- Revoke its permissions before uninstalling, especially accessibility, device administrator and overlay, a device-admin grant can block removal until withdrawn.
- Uninstall, clear residual data, restart.
- Change your password from a different device you trust, and anywhere else you used something similar.
- Enable two-factor authentication, then reinstall from the operator's own published link.
And the rule that matters most anywhere near this subject: nobody legitimate ever needs your password, a one-time code, a two-factor code, your recovery codes or remote access to your screen. Not support, not an account manager, not a helpful stranger. Anyone charging a fee to recover funds or unlock an account is running a second scheme against the same person.
Verify the identifier and the permission screen, ignore ratings entirely, and revoke special access before removing anything suspect.
Regions and Access
A listing appearing in your store is a store decision, not a statement about who the platform will serve. Those are different questions.
Can I download it in the US?
American readers overwhelmingly install from the two mainstream stores rather than from files, which is protective. But the operator publishes a notice on both its addresses stating that it does not provide service to residents of the EEA countries, the USA, Israel, the UK, the Philippines, Japan and Brazil. Read verbatim on 31 July 2026, and the CFTC lists the brand among foreign entities that appear to solicit US residents without registration. The US note sets out both records.
Why can I not see the listing in my store?
Store visibility follows the country set on your Google or Apple account and the publisher's distribution settings. If a listing is not offered to you, the browser version reaches the same platform with nothing installed. What is not a fix: changing your store account's country, opening a second one, using an alternative store, or a VPN. None of them alters who the platform will serve, and each creates a problem of its own.
Does an install completing mean I am eligible?
No, and this is the most important distinction on the page. An app installing is a technical event; being served is a commercial and regulatory one. Where a declared country conflicts with an operator's published position, friction tends to appear at identity verification and at withdrawal: which is after money is in, not before. "It let me sign up" is not evidence of anything.
- India, Russia and Canada are not named in the notice, which is not the same as permission.
- The UK, Brazil and the US are named in it.
- No mainstream financial regulator is named on the operator's public pages.
- Fixed-time options are high-risk speculation, and most retail accounts in this product category lose money.
Whether any individual may lawfully use a platform is a question for a qualified adviser or the relevant authority, not for this site. Read the operator's notice and the regulatory records at source. All of them were read on 31 July 2026 and all of them can change.
A listing appearing and a customer being served are different questions, and the second one is answered at verification and payout.
Questions readers keep asking
What is the safest way to download the Pocket Option app?
Type the operator's address into your browser yourself, follow the store link published in its download section, and confirm the package identifier when the listing opens. That single route is what makes everything else reliable.
Which app do I need: Pocket Option or Pocket Broker?
The one matching the front you registered on: com.pocketoption.broker for pocketoption.com, com.potradeweb for po.trade. Do not assume one login opens both, because nobody outside the company can confirm that.
Is there a Windows or Mac app to download?
No native installer is published. The operator's own page about using the platform on a computer describes a browser-based web application, so the desktop setup is a bookmark and an up-to-date browser rather than a download.
What size is the app and what version is current?
Neither is published by the operator, and this site will not invent them. The store listing shows the current download size and release notes for your device, that is the only source that stays accurate.
The app asked for SMS access. Should I allow it?
No. Cancel the install. A trading app has no legitimate need to read your messages, and the same goes for device administrator rights, accessibility services and drawing over other apps.
Can I install it if my country is not listed in the store?
Use the browser version instead. It reaches the same platform with nothing installed. Changing your store account country, using an alternative store or a VPN are not fixes, and none of them changes who the platform will actually serve.
